About Newlands Basketball Club
We come from, represent and reflect our diverse community. We will enrich, connect and include everyone.
Newlands Basketball Club is managed by family and friends of players.
We are one big community having lots of fun!
Our aim is to actively engage and involve our community in the benefits of participating, supporting and enjoying all aspects of basketball. We welcome girls and boys aged 5+ years to come along and learn how to play and enjoy playing a team sport. Our club welcomes children living in the northern Melbourne suburbs including Coburg, Preston, Reservoir, Brunswick, Thornbury, Northcote, Glenroy, Fawkner, Hadfield, Thomastown and surrounding suburbs.
Our mission is to provide opportunities for everyone to experience the excitement and joy of the game.
Newlands Basketball Club is a member of the Coburg Giants Basketball Association.

We are firm believers in teamwork and ownership. Our growth and performances reflect this.
The committee always attempts to be available to speak with club members, however with 350+ children, parents and officials to coordinate, we ask that you work through team-related issues initially via your Team Manager, then the Team Coordinator.
Issues that cannot be resolved by the Team Coordinator will be referred to the President, and likewise referred to the Committee if required.
It is the Team Manager's role to ensure players are advised of game day information. With respect, if players are running late or not available for a game, the team manager must be notified.
The Team Coordinator ensures that Coaches and Team Managers are in place for every game. The Team Coordinator must be advised when a Coach or Team Manager is unavailable for training or game day.
Please remember that as a community club we are all volunteers who freely give our own time to promote basketball and encourage community participation.
We ask that you treat each other with respect.
